In Appreciation for: Trick R Treat

Edit: It now appears that this film will (finally after two years) be released on dvd and Blu Ray, pending of course if Warner Bros screws this poor film over again. But at least it will be out there for people to see :D

If you happened top buy 300 on dvd, chances are you saw a trailer for a unheard of scary movie called "Trick R Treat". The trailer showcased some familiar, although not famous talent (Anna Paquin, Brian Cox, among others), fantastic yet eerie set direction, and an intriguing premise: An anthology of Halloween tales all set during the same day and same community. Although supposed to be released in October 2007, the film was pushed back because of a surplus of less then half decent horror films such as 30 Days of Night and Saw 4 taking up the Halloween movie market, smaller films such as Trick R Treat were pushed away. As of yet, there are no plans to release Trick R Treat this Halloween season, and recently Warner Brothers has dropped the film off their distribution, which means that this film may never be released until another distributor picks it up, not even on dvd. It's sad to see shlock paint-by-number films like the Saw franchise offer tons of gore, which doesn't make a film scary just disturbing, and a small film like Trick R Treat, which (from what I have been able to gather through the trailer and from the select few who have been to the screenings have stated) a scary atmosphere and honest scares.
